Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), also known as Devic’s disease and neuromyelitis optica (NMO), is a rare autoimmune disease where an individual’s immune system reacts against its own cells in the central nervous system, mainly in the optic nerves and spinal cord, but sometimes brain. It is a rare disease that affects the nervous system.
