About the disease
Myasthenia gravis is a chronic autoimmune, neuromuscular disease that causes weakness in the skeletal muscles, which the body uses for breathing and movement. Subtypes include congenital myasthenia gravis, generalized myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia gravis, transient neonatal myasthenia gravis, and juvenile myasthenia gravis.
