About the disease
Graft versus host disease (GvHD), also known as runt disease, is a life-threatening condition that may occur after certain stem cell or bone marrow transplants, where the transplanted tissue views the host tissue as foreign and attacks the body. Subtypes include acute graft versus host disease, chronic graft versus host disease, and late-onset. It is a rare disease that affects the immune system.
