About the disease
Biliary tract cancer, also known as biliary tract carcinoma, is a rare cancer that forms in the cells of the bile ducts, gallbladder, or ampulla of Vater. It affects the hepatobiliary system. Subtypes include: Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer), extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, gallbladder cancer, and carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater.
