Across the country, adults with chronic illnesses are struggling to access care and afford their treatment, according to the PAN Foundation’s inaugural State of Patient Access report.
A recent article by Managed Healthcare Executive discussed the key findings of the new report, which grades various aspects of the healthcare experience, including affordability of prescription medications and relationships with healthcare professionals. The report also examines how barriers vary across populations.
Across all demographics and communities surveyed for the report, access to care received a grade of C+.
PAN’s Chief Mission Officer Amy Niles told Managed Healthcare Executive that access to care is the greatest challenge facing patients today.
“The time for policymakers to act is now,” she said.
