Dear PAN team members,

As one of the largest and most impactful charitable patient assistance foundations in the country, the work that we do here at PAN is truly life changing. I feel honored to work alongside each one of you as we help patients afford their out-of-pocket prescription costs and advocate for accessible, affordable, and equitable healthcare for all.

During my time here at PAN so far, I’ve been so impressed by the professionalism, respect, hard work, and passion displayed by each one of you. An organization is only as good as the people who are part of it, and we have an amazing team of dedicated patient champions who work tirelessly toward our vision of a nation where no one goes without treatment due to cost.

To further codify the culture that you all have helped to build here at PAN, and with input from across the organization, I’m honored to officially share with you our organizational values of dignity, excellence, integrity, and intention. These values not only speak to who we are, but also to who we want to continue to be in the years to come.

Our core values in action

Dignity

  • We treat our patients the way we would want our loved ones to be treated.
  • We see everyone as people first.
  • We base our work on trust and respect for one another.

Excellence

  • We deliver best-in-class assistance to patients with rigor and speed.
  • We carefully steward our resources to maximize our impact on patients.
  • We foster innovation to advance how we work and serve patients.

Integrity

  • We uphold the highest standards of conduct and compliance and safeguard the tremendous trust placed in us.
  • We hold ourselves and each other accountable for our actions and results.
  • We pledge to be transparent and communicate openly and boldly to the public about our work.

Intention

  • We strive to understand and embrace diverse experiences and perspectives in all that we do.
  • We serve as the voice for all patients and aim to create equitable access to the care they need.
  • We act as champions for those who need it most.

While these values have been at the heart of who PAN is and how we have operated for decades, formally declaring what we stand for as an organization is imperative. Underpinning our commitment to these values is a belief that they must be practiced through action and embraced throughout the organization.

As President and CEO, and alongside our Board of Directors and leadership team, I am committed to leading with dignity, excellence, integrity, and intention, and ensuring these organizational values remain at the core of everything we do here at PAN. Our continued commitment to our patients and to improving healthcare access, affordability, and equity for all drives the passion everyone who works here has for what we do.

By purposefully living out these values through our work, we will have an even greater impact on the people who need our support most. I thank each of you for not only helping us to codify these values, but for working every day to embody them as well. In the coming weeks and months, I will share more information with you about how these values will be embedded into our policies and practices moving forward. Until then, thank you for all that you do for the patients that we serve.

With gratitude and appreciation,
