PAN’s financial assistance featured in The Wall Street Journal
More than two million people in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year, and there are more than 18 million survivors. Most striking is the increased number of cancer patients who are working age.
A recent article in The Wall Street Journal highlights the unique challenges these patients face, including managing their careers, health insurance, and fertility. PAN Patient and Family Advisory Council member and grant recipient, Michael Riotto, is quoted in the article saying, “It’s outrageously expensive. It affected the family more than anything. We literally just scraped to survive to keep me alive.”
