PAN’s financial assistance featured in Pharmaceutical Commerce

A recent report points to the fact that most people living in the U.S. are struggling to afford proper medical care or prescription refills. In fact, affordability is down to a record low of 55 percent according to the most recent West Health-Gallup Affordability Index.

A recent article in Pharmaceutical Commerce highlights these challenges and some of the options available to patients to help them afford their care. PAN’s Chief Mission Officer, Amy Niles, is quoted in the article saying, “One of the key issues is that so many individuals—especially people on Medicare are faced with—is high out-of-pocket costs for prescription medications…A key reason why the PAN Foundation exists is to provide an important safety net for people who find themselves to be underinsured or challenged with affording their out-of-pocket costs for their prescription medications.”
