PAN supports the Electronic Prior Authorization for Prescription Drugs Act to modernize prior authorization process
The PAN Foundation submitted a letter to Senators Roger Marshall and Ben Ray Lujan in support of the Electronic Prior Authorization for Prescription Drugs Act (S. 4349). The legislation, introduced by the Senators, would streamline prior authorization by mandating that health plans implement a secure electronic system for the transmission of requests, in accordance with technical standards outlined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
The Act would digitize and standardize prior authorization procedures, reducing the burden on healthcare providers and ensuring that patients can access their needed prescription medications without delay.
