About the Disease
Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), also known as Marie-Strumpell disease or Bechterew’s disease, is an inflammatory disorder of the spine and large joints that causes vertebrae in the spine to fuse together. AS is a chronic disease that affects the skeletal system.
