The PAN Foundation launched the Opening Doors to Clinical Trials initiative to increase participation and representation in clinical trials.

Through this educational initiative, the PAN Foundation is empowering patients and healthcare professionals with comprehensive tools and resources to navigate the complexities of clinical trials. The program has several differentiating components, including:

Personalized assistance through PAN’s ComPANion Access Navigators, dedicated team members who provide one-on-one help answering questions about clinical trials when additional support is needed.

Comprehensive awareness and educational resources that give people the knowledge they need to better understand the basics of clinical trials while addressing medical mistrust and misconceptions.

An easy-to-use trial finder tool that removes barriers to trial access by providing a streamlined, user-friendly approach to searching for trials.

Impact-to-date

Since the PAN Foundation launched Opening Doors to Clinical Trials in October 2024, we’ve seen real shifts in how people view and engage with clinical trials. In fact, we measured knowledge gain and perception change among over 400 people who used our digital platform and found:

Nearly 7 in 10 individuals felt more motivated to learn about clinical trials.

The likelihood of patients discussing trials with their healthcare providers increased by 12 percent.

The percentage of people who believe “clinical trials are accessible to me” doubled, rising from 36 percent to 68 percent.
