As a leading healthcare advocacy organization, engaging patient advocates from across the country is a critical element of the work of the PAN Foundation.

Through the PAN Foundation’s annual Advocacy Action Summit, a group of PAN grant recipients are given the opportunity to share their stories, make their voices heard, and help shape policies that directly impact people living with chronic and serious illnesses.

During the Summit, we bring a diverse group of patient advocates together in Washington, DC, to receive expert advocacy training, connect with other passionate advocates, and take their message directly to policymakers on Capitol Hill.

Impact-to-date

Since the PAN Foundation launched our first in-person Advocacy Action Summit in September 2023, we’ve achieved the following:

100+ advocates joined us to meet with their Congressional members

440+ meetings have taken place on Capitol Hill

8 key issue areas brought before policymakers, including improving utilization management practices, prohibiting copay accumulator and alternative funding programs, and expanding dental, hearing, and vision benefits

But this is just the beginning. Each year we receive hundreds of applications from passionate advocates from every corner of the country who want to be part of this exciting and impactful event. And with your support, we can continue to grow and expand the Summit, increasing our advocacy impact and improving healthcare access and affordability for all.
