PAN announces 2025 healthcare policy and education priorities

The PAN Foundation, a leading charitable foundation and healthcare advocacy organization, today announced its healthcare policy and education priorities for 2025. Through these priorities, PAN outlines the legislation we will champion and our approach to patient education as we work to increase equitable access to healthcare for all.

“In addition to providing critical financial assistance for treatment costs, we are proud to advocate for policy solutions that expand access to care and to deliver education on complex topics to help people on their healthcare journey,” said PAN Foundation President and CEO Kevin L. Hagan. “We’ve been improving access and transforming the health of people across the country for over 20 years and continue to lead the way in advocating for policies and providing educational resources that help people live the lives they deserve.”

The PAN Foundation will continue to address longstanding healthcare access challenges by asking Congress, the administration, and regulatory agencies to:

We will continue to advocate for policy solutions that lower a patient’s total cost of care and enhance overall access to treatment. And, we will play a leading role in educating people about key topics, including but not limited to:

  • Medicare Part D reforms that go into full effect in 2025, including the Part D annual cap on out-of-pocket costs and the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan.
  • The importance of participation in clinical trials to ensure treatments are safe and effective for everyone, including those from underrepresented groups.
  • The harm to patients caused by alternative funding programs and why employers should not use them through their employer-sponsored health plans.

“Advocacy and education go hand-in-hand and at the PAN Foundation we are committed to being a go-to resource around critical issues impacting people’s access to care,” said PAN Foundation Chief Mission Officer Amy Niles. “We are also grateful for the thousands of patient advocates and our many partners nationwide who are working alongside us every day to ensure everyone has access to affordable, equitable healthcare.”

We will also continue to offer patient insights and perspectives with national research and polling through our Center for Patient Research. Recent research examined the state of patient access, the potential impact of upcoming Medicare reforms, the interest in clinical trial participation by historically marginalized communities, and awareness of 2025 Medicare reforms.
