Pharmaceutical Commerce interviews PAN’s Chief Mission Officer about access and affordability

Information about this website: Following the March 2026 merger of Patient Advocate Foundation and the PAN Foundation, this website is now a part of Patient Advocate Foundation and remains active during our website transition.

Where to find information during our transition:

During the recent 2024 Informa PAP conference, Pharmaceutical Commerce interviewed PAN’s Chief Mission Officer Amy Niles about our mission, impact, and State of Patient Access report.

The interviews, which are available to read or watch, highlight the findings in PAN’s inaugural State of Patient Access report, which debuted at Informa PAP.

“The bottom line is adults with chronic conditions simply do not rate access to their health care in this country with high marks—they gave it a grade C,” she said.

The report outlines the challenges in accessing care and analyzes the barriers across different demographics and communities.
“The purpose of the report was to understand these barriers, and ultimately to provide an agenda for not only the PAN foundation, but patient advocacy organizations who can work together towards policy solutions that will improve access to their care,” she said.

In a separate interview, Pharmaceutical Commerce sat down with Amy to discuss PAN’s work, impact, and a typical day for a patient advocacy professional.

“I also love the advocacy work, knowing that if we are so fortunate to pass common sense legislation—that can impact millions of patients,” she said.
