On January 1, 2025, two new Medicare Part D reforms went into effect as a result of the Inflation Reduction Act–an annual out-of-pocket cap on prescription medication costs and the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan. Despite new polling that shows increased awareness of these reforms when compared to fall 2024, recent polling from the PAN Foundation’s Center for Patient Research points to the need for more education and outreach.
This story from Pharmaceutical Commerce highlights a PAN Foundation mainstage panel session at Informa PAP USA where findings from our Center for Patient Research national poll were unveiled. The article features quotes from PAN’s Chief Mission Officer, Amy Niles, and Patient and Family Advisory Council member, Bill Allen, and they and their fellow panelists emphasize the need for more education about these critical new changes.
