PAN opens new chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy fund
The PAN Foundation today opened a new financial assistance program for people living with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), providing up to $9,500 per year for eligible patients.
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, also known as CIDP, is a rare neurological disorder characterized by progressive weakness and impaired sensory function in the legs and arms. The National Organization for Rare Disorders estimates the prevalence of CIDP to be around 5-7 cases per 100,000 individuals.
“CIDP is a rare disease that can affect someone at any stage in their life, but with proper treatment, the majority of those affected see improvement and good long-term prognoses. We’re thrilled to provide the financial assistance to help people seek these treatments.” said Kevin L. Hagan, PAN’s President and CEO. “We were able to open this important fund thanks to the support of PAN’s generous donors, allowing us to ease the financial burden for those living with CIDP.”
Patients who qualify are eligible to receive $9,500 in financial assistance to pay for the deductibles, copays, and coinsurance costs associated with their treatment for CIDP.
