The PAN Foundation announces new initiative to support healthcare professionals with financial navigation webinar series

The PAN Foundation today announced the launch of a free, four-part financial navigation webinar series to run from June 2021 to March 2022. The webinar series will feature leading subject matter experts and cover important topics for healthcare professionals and advocates looking to assist more patients in accessing needed treatments.

Financial navigation is a well-recognized and supported service in many oncology practices but less developed or absent in other clinical specialties.

Even within cancer settings, barriers to implementation and long-term success of financial navigation services exist, including:

  • Need to justify utilization of navigation services and address return on investment
  • Need for training and professional development of navigation skills and knowledge
  • Need to demonstrate value

“It is undeniable that providing patients with financial navigation services facilitates access to care that would otherwise be unaffordable,” said Dan Klein, PAN Foundation President and CEO. “Our goal in hosting this webinar series is to provide resources to healthcare professionals and patient advocates as they strive to implement or improve financial navigation services at their facility.”

In light of COVID-19’s devastating impact on households across the country, financial navigators will play an increasingly important role in a post-pandemic world. As a safety net organization, the PAN Foundation is invested in the success of financial navigation programs across various healthcare settings.

By attending the upcoming four-part webinar series, healthcare professionals and advocates will acquire the knowledge needed to build the case for establishing or expanding their organization’s financial navigation program and the skills necessary to find and maximize charitable assistance.
