PAN educates about the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan in Oncolytics Today
The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan is a new voluntary Medicare Part D payment option that went into effect on January 1, 2025, which patients must opt-in to. This program lets patients spread their out-of-pocket drug payments throughout the calendar year but won’t lower them. Patients can opt in to the program through both traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage Part D drugs.
In this article from Oncolytics Today (page 63), PAN Foundation Chief Mission Officer Amy Niles, highlights key aspects of the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan, outlines patient examples of how the program works, and answers some common questions about the program. In addition, she highlights recent polling from PAN’s Center for Patient Research that highlights the need for more awareness and education about recent Medicare reforms, including this program.
