PAN featured in The Washington Post article on new Medicare reforms

Information about this website: Following the March 2026 merger of Patient Advocate Foundation and the PAN Foundation, this website is now a part of Patient Advocate Foundation and remains active during our website transition.

Where to find information during our transition:

With more than 50 million people in the U.S. enrolled in Medicare’s drug benefit, known as Part D, it’s important to understand the historic changes coming to the program as a result of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. This includes the new Medicare Prescription Payment Plan and a $2,000 annual out-of-pocket cap.

A recent article in The Washington Post highlights these reforms and what those enrolled in Medicare Part D plans need to know about them. PAN’s Chief Mission Officer, Amy Niles, is quoted in the article saying, “If there were ever a year to do so (checking your coverage), it really is this year.”
