The PAN Foundation celebrates LGBTQI+ Pride Month

Information about this website: Following the March 2026 merger of Patient Advocate Foundation and the PAN Foundation, this website is now a part of Patient Advocate Foundation and remains active during our website transition.

Where to find information during our transition:

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month is celebrated in June to recognize New York’s Stonewall Uprising in 1969. The Stonewall Uprising marked a turning point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States, and the Christopher Street Liberation March in 1970 commemorated one-year since the police riad at the Stonewall Inn. New York’s first “Gay Pride Week” and march that year led to more Pride celebrations across the country.

This year, President Biden proclaimed June 2022 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month to acknowledge the current challenges facing the LGBTQI+ community and celebrate the generations of LGBTQI+ folks who have fought for inclusion and equality.

This month, we’re highlighting four patient-focused organizations that serve the LGBTQI+ community.

Fenway Health

Fenway Health is a vocal advocate for equitable and accessible healthcare, support services, and transformative research and education. They focus on serving LGBTQIA+ people, BIPOC individuals, and other underserved communities in the Boston area.
