 Faster Access to Therapy for Patients
Washington, DC. August 23, 2010. Patient Access Network Foundation is pleased to announce launching of the new online application, which will put patients on the fast-track to therapy. The new online application will allow you, as patient or advocate, to initiate an application online without having to wait for signatures.

Removing Expense Barrier Leads to Higher Compliance with Medical Regimen
Patients receiving copayment assistance from Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation reported a striking 35 percent increase in their ability to comply with their prescribed medical regimen.  Noncompliance is one of the major reasons for failure of medical therapy and disease progression. 

Patient Access Network offers assistance for patients with retinal vein occlusion (RVO)
On June 22, 2010, Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation will begin providing co-payment assistance for medications to underinsured patients with retinal vein occlusion (RVO).

PAN offers assistance for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
On April 1, 2010, Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation will begin providing co-payment assistance for medications to underinsured patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).  Qualified patients will be granted $5,000 per year to cover the cost of medications related to their disease.

Patient Access Network opens 5 new funds including Prostate Cancer
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation will expand its services to provide co-payment assistance for medications to underinsured patients through five new funds--including grants of up to $10,000 per year for prostate cancer patients.  The other new funds will provide access to medications for patients with hepatitis B or C, non-kidney solid organ transplants, cytomegalovirus (or CMV), and acromegaly.  

PAN Launches New Provider Portal
WASHINGTON - Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation announced today that  a new Web portal is now available to the thousands of medical providers nationwide who treat patients receiving PAN medication copayment assistance.  The portal will improve overall services and make communication between providers and PAN easier and faster.

PAN to Provide Copayment Assistance for Renal Cell Cancer
The Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation today announced that it is opening a new fund to provide copayment assistance to insured individuals being treated for renal cell carcinoma.  Effective immediately, eligible patients can receive up to $7500 per year to cover deductibles and copayments for medications to treat this type of kidney cancer, which is the most prevalent type of kidney cancer among American adults.

Recently Unemployed May Qualify for New Copayment Assistance
Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation announced a new copayment assistance initiative designed to help many Americans who have lost their jobs in 2009 but have managed to retain their health insurance coverage.

Kim A. Schwartz Named to PAN Foundation Board
At its recent board of directors’ meeting, Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation named an active nonprofit executive, Kim A. Schwartz, to its governing board for a three-year term.  Ms. Schwartz is currently Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the American Lung Association.

Patients say costs determining factor in their treatment decisions
Seventy-three percent of insured patients receiving assistance from Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation reported that health care costs are influencing their medication and treatment decisions more this year than last. Nearly half of these said that cost is having a “very big” or “big” impact on whether they seek treatment or fill prescriptions. 

PAN Announces Higher Grant for Three Diseases
Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation announced that it is immediately raising the grant amounts available to patients receiving copayment assistance for Age-Related Macular Degeneration, Multiple Myeloma and Myelodysplastic Syndrome.  The cap for Age-Related Macular Degeneration increased from $2000 annually per patient to $3000.
