Patrick McKercher

 

Patrick McKercher, RPh, PhD, is President of Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation. His career spans hospital pharmacy practice, academia and the pharmaceutical industry. As Executive Director for Corporate Initiatives at the Upjohn Company, a pharmaceutical company which eventually merged into the Pfizer Company, he was responsible for providing policy analysis and strategic advice to senior management and the Upjohn Washington office. His research and publications focus on pharmaceutical policy.

Dr. McKercher brings a unique set of experiences and skills to the office of President of this charitable foundation focused on providing financial assistance to patients facing hardship from cost-sharing burdens associated with progressive and innovative therapies. The unintended consequences of cost-sharing include barriers to access with the result of uninitiated or abandoned therapies. His value to PAN is bringing a keen awareness of the importance of compliance with anti-kickback statutes and resultant guidance provided by the Office of the Inspector General. His enthusiasm for therapies coupled with his research and involvement in health policy are a unique combination valuable to the mission of PAN.

Richard Goldstein

Richard Goldstein is the Chief Financial Officer of PAN Foundation. Richard has been the Chief Financial Officer at several organizations in the for-profit media, and not-for-profit education and community service sectors.He has extensive experience in restructuring distressed companies, mergers and acquisitions and has also provided voluntary tax assistance and financial advice to low income taxpayers.

Early in his career he worked for the accounting firm Ernst & Young simultaneously earning his CPA and MBA. Richard earned his BS in Accounting from the Syracuse University and his MBA from the Pace University. He is an avid golfer and loves baseball.

Korab Zuka

 

Korab Zuka, Vice President of External Relations & Patient Services, directs PAN's fundraising strategy and manages all interactions with current and potential donors.

Prior to joining PAN, Korab spent 5 years working for the United Nations in Kosovo, Youth and Higher Education Support Unit where he supported several projects focused on promoting education and enrichment experiences for underserved youth in Kosovo. While at the United Nations, Korab also founded and served as Executive Director for the Center for Social Emancipation, a non-profit organization that sought to promote human rights for marginalized communities in Kosovo. Korab earned his Bachelor's degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Project Management and Online Business and holds certificates in Advanced Leadership Studies and Management and Process Development.

Svetlana Durkovic

 

Svetlana Durkovic, Director of Operations, manages PAN's operations including governance, communications, and research.

Prior to joining PAN, Svetlana worked with the American Sociological Association and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. – USA (IEEE-USA). She was trained in the human rights based approach methodology in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and has worked on various human rights projects for UNOHCHR, UNDP, and other organizations in BiH and the region. Starting in 2002, Svetlana also founded and served as Executive Director for the Organization Q, the first non-profit organization that worked on promotion of human rights of LGBTIQ persons in BiH. Svetlana earned her BA from the Longwood University in Anthropology and her MA from the University of Chicago in Social Sciences.

Emily Acland, Associate Manager of External Relations, manages  donor and provider communications, assists in the execution of PAN’s fundraising strategy, and supports the work of PAN’s Vice President.
 
Prior to joining PAN, Emily was the Coordinator of Development & Client Services for The Endocrine Society where she organized fundraising efforts and provided project management, fundraising, and membership services for the Association of Program Directors in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism (APDEM) and the Endocrine Nurses Society. Emily is also a Director of the Cushing’s Support & Research Foundation, a volunteer-run patient support and awareness network for Cushing’s Syndrome patients and their families. Emily earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky in Marketing and Business Administration.

Yasmeen Waheed

 

Yasmeen Waheed, Associate Manager of Operations, assists in managing PAN's operations and office IT. 

Prior to her role with PAN, Yasmeen was Executive Assistant to the Program Director of The Virginia Williams Family Resource Center for Washington DC’s Coalition for the Homeless. She enjoys non-profit work and is furthering her education in non-profit management. Yasmeen brings over 8 years of administrative experience to PAN.

Thomas Webb

 

 

Thomas Webb, Administrative Assistant, assists in managing PAN's office and administrative/financial tasks.

Prior to joining PAN, Thomas served as the Administrative Assistant for the American Academy of Nursing, providing support and guidance for the Academy as well as the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing, where he focused on a full spectrum of resource programs, membership services, and improving Geriatric nursing.

Thomas brings over 8 years of Health Care, research, and administrative experience to PAN.
